Walking in someone else's shoes

This year for Mental Health Awareness Week, we want to encourage everyone to take a walk in someone else’s shoes. Recognising that we are all different helps to foster empathy, understanding, and connection; and by embracing diverse perspectives and supporting each other, we can promote positive wellbeing and strengthen our communities.

This poem is all about empathy, understanding, and sticking together. It says we should try to see things from others’ perspectives to really get where they’re coming from. By being empathetic and caring, we can bring people closer, finding things we share and making strong connections. Most importantly, it reminds us to have each other’s backs, lift each other up, and appreciate what makes us different.
