You are responsible for Wellbeing, HR, or Health & Safety, lead your current network and operate in a company or business with over 250 employees.
You're ready to take action
You are ready to level up from Mental Health First Aid, looking to embed a safety-first, structured and fully measurable programme.
You don't do tick-box approaches
You are frustrated with traditional wellbeing approaches and recognise that mental health conversations must be handled safely with governance in place.
Why this new model was created
Mental Health First Aiders. Mental Health Champions. Wellbeing Ambassadors. There are countless names for peer-to-peer support networks… but they all share the same problems. Most operate in high-risk, hard-to-measure ways, with inconsistent training and no clear structure. Not only have businesses recognised this, but research from Cochrane and the HSE has found no evidence that Mental Health First Aid improves mental health outcomes in the workplace.
The Supporter Method™ solves these problems, giving businesses a clear framework for embedding a safer, proactive and fully measurable network. It was designed to align with HSE and ISO 45003 principles, and to be shaped around your unique measures of success.
Inside the Supporter Method™ Course
Accepted applicants will gain exclusive access to our eLearning Supporter Method™ course, complete with a series of workplace templates, handbook, and invite-only opportunities to join virtual Q&As and more.
Lay strong foundations, identify the right people, and structure your network for long-term success and high engagement.
When anyone can become a Mental Health First Aider, this often harms your culture rather instead of improving it. Without the correct assessment and recruitment stages in place, you risk recruiting the wrong people, create mistrust (due to confidentiality breaches and poor conduct), and witness low engagement with the network. Even more critically, those you’ve trained can often burn out or step away from the role due to no support systems in place.
Build safety, proactivity and consistency across your Supporter network, stepping away from the ‘one-off’ training approach.
For skills to truly stick, we must build learning experiences as opposed to throwing people into a few workshops. These types of programmes often leave individuals unprepared, alone and hesitant to proactively hold mental health conversations. Worst of all, training is delivered in a cookie-cutter manner, replicated across businesses as though they’re all the same. Through our framework, we show you why it needs to be designed around you; making it practical, relevant, and simply the start of a wider learning journey.
Establish safe systems instead of relying on hope so you can proactively protect, guide and sustain your Supporters’ wellbeing and competence.
Those who hold mental health conversations play a crucial role in business. If people don’t feel safe, they aren’t going to be able to deliver results. Those holding conversations will; listen, hold space, and help colleagues and team members navigate difficult moments. But they are not therapists. And they’re not invincible. In our framework, we explore the need for a proactive, structured support system around your Supporters, so they can thrive in the role.
Drive full visibility, build trust, and ensure your Supporter network is fully engaged.
Without consistent communication, recognition, and visibility, individuals supporting others can become inactive. Once this happen, employees will quickly forget the network exists, and the programme slowly dwindles. That’s why engagement is not something you only focus on at launch, it’s a continual part of the programme you build and maintain. Through our framework, we’ll show you how to keep your Supporters motivated, visible and engaged with your employees.
Capture meaningful data, demonstrate impact and influence organisational decision-making.
Too often, these support networks struggle with no way of measuring their engagement or impact, which makes it hard to justify investment and guarantee safety in its conduct. Through our framework, we show why it is necessary to capture the right data so you can ensure safety, spot risks and most importantly turn information into insight you can act upon. This helps you guide decisions and strengthen your entire wellbeing and health and safety strategies.
