Roundtable: How to navigate an employee suicide in the workplace

What: Join fellow mid to senior-level HR and Wellbeing professionals for a roundtable discussing how to navigate an employee suicide in the workplace.

When: Wednesday 17th June at 12 – 1pm

Where: Virtual over Teams! We will share the invite with you privately.

What to expect...

In this roundtable, Paul McGregor and Emily Langton will bring together mid to senior-level HR and Wellbeing professionals working across businesses in the UK to explore one of the most difficult situations an organisation can face: how to respond, support, and recover when an employee dies by suicide.

No organisation wants to plan for this. But when it happens, the decisions made in the hours, days, and weeks that follow have a profound impact – on grieving colleagues, on managers asked to hold teams together, and on the wider culture of care within the business.

This interactive session will explore what organisations need to have in place after an employee suicide, so that when the unthinkable happens, leaders and HR teams are not navigating it alone.

Below is a brief outline of the agenda. As always, we want the discussion to reflect the realities you are facing. If there are specific challenges or questions you would like us to address, please share them in advance.

Agenda highlights:

  • What to do in the immediate aftermath – the decisions, communications, and people considerations that shouldn’t wait
  • How to support grieving colleagues and teams while managing your own response as an HR or wellbeing professional
  • Understanding postvention: what a structured, organisational response looks like
  • Learning from organisations that have navigated this and built more resilient, prepared cultures as a result

The roundtable will begin with brief introductions before Paul and Emily facilitate an open, sensitive conversation with all attendees.
