Why businesses have moved on from Mental Health First Aid
Mental Health First Aid was a great idea in principle. But in 2025, businesses have moved on.
Without structure, support and measurement, Mental Health First Aid networks are burning out, going invisible, and in some cases leaving businesses exposed to serious risk. The HSE has raised questions about effectiveness, and HR leaders are under pressure to prove their programmes reduce ill-health effects from stress at work – not just train volunteers and hope for the best.
Led by Kayleigh Atkinson from Everymind at Work, this session features insights and lived experience from Kelly Osborne, Health and Wellbeing Manager at Wates Construction, and Gavin Thorpe, Therapist and Co-Founder and CEO of Talk Club. You also hear from workplace wellbeing and legal experts during the session.
This session is designed for HR, Wellbeing and Health & Safety leads in the workplace.
